- Simon Cowell: One Direction is the most exciting boy band to hit the music industry!
- Kpop Fans: YOU KNOW NOTHING.
“Wait up guys, I just woke up.”
And the best actress goes to!… lol. jk. XD
The best days of Kpop were the days of CARTEL…and those days are long gone…
To be honest, I wasn’t exactly fully active in those days, but I truly believe those days were the blissful days of Kpop, and I’m sure that I am not the only one who thinks so. Under the influence of these amazing three…
to Bamthegreat: about Sooyoung
I’m agree with you.
and to all Sooyoung fan
It’s just my mind.
First, I think if Sooyoung(or SNSD) have a problem, Sooyoung(or SNSD)’s manager will solve it. And if Sooyoung even yell or cry like that, manager will definitely hear and see it and he will come to…
People ask, so here’s may take on it. I will write my thoughts in bullet form
so it will look shorterto make it clearer.
- Let us take the story with a grain of salt. None of us were there to witness it; hence, none of us has the right to give biased judgments regarding the incident.
- We cannot assume that Meshell is an anti-fan. The fact that she put her picture online to support her claim already makes her a target of thousands of SONEs all over the world. I believe no sane person will jeopardize their safety by putting their face for the world to see just to bash other people. Unless of course, that picture isn’t really Meshell. So yeah, I stand corrected.
- But then again, as the account was written in the person of someone who was in the scene, especially that she was the one cussed at (or so she says), we cannot rely on this holistically. The fact that she was directly concerned takes away the objectivity of the account. It was written on her point of view; which means that the situation will be relayed in a manner most benefiting to her subjective interest. To quote Salman Rushdie, “Memory has its own special kind. It selects, eliminates, alters, exaggerates, minimizes, glorifies, and vilifies also; but in the end it creates its own reality, its heterogeneous but usually coherent version of events; and no sane human being ever trusts someone else’s version more than his own.”
- There are some minor glitches that I’ve noticed actually. “The manager came to me apologizing about how she was rude to me and the officer. The Manager, Her Self, came to me apologizing about how she cursed about me. I didn’t know until she told me.” I think it’s funny that the manager would personally come back just to say “hey, that person I’m in charged with just cursed at you. Sorry for that. Kthnxbai.” I mean, isn’t a manager’s first job responsibility to protect an idol’s image? Hmmm…
- Also, when the Airport Officer said “I’m not asking her. I’m asking you. YOU speak ENGLISH. YOU understand ME so YOU answer me!” to Sooyoung, I think that is quite over the edge. I’ve heard people saying that Americans are generally rude. I do not want to believe that though from the way Meshell stated things, I think it is fair to conclude that the LAX Officer was having his typical rude moment. So yeah. LAX Officer, where are you? Explain your side. :))
- It was stated in the account that Sooyoung was crying. She looked rather happy when she stepped outside with the fans. But then again, she’s wearing sunglasses so we cannot really be sure of that. Jessica and Sunny didn’t look anything less than happy also.
- Once again, there were no other witnesses of the said scene (unless someone comes forward and say their side). The only mentioned people were the manager, the officer, Meshell, and Sooyoung. We heard Meshell’s side but we haven’t heard from the three others.
- GRANTING BUT NOT CONCEDING that what she said about the incident is true, we also have no rights to judge, more so, bash Sooyoung for what happened. We have no right to hate on Sooyoung in the same way that we have no right to believe that she can never do wrong.
- But then to remind you, in case you forgot, Sooyoung is an idol but she is also just another human being with emotions and flaws. There are no laws saying idols can’t cuss. I even heard nuns cuss before (but that’s beside the point). However, be reminded again that we should not believe everything that was written in that account as it was written subjectively.
- To be clear, I am not saying that the account was true. Nor am I saying that it is another (not-so-)subtle way to bash on SNSD. What I’m pointing out is that the account MAY BE TRUE but WE SHOULD NOT CONSIDER IT AS ENTIRELY TRUE. In a way, we can say that the account MAY BE FALSE but WE SHOULD NOT CONSIDER IT AS ENTIRELY FALSE.
Okay so I’m repeating myself. To end it all, I’ll leave with this. It is perhaps human nature to judge a person for one small thing that a person has done. To discredit all the positive things that the person did just because of one incident. A rude moment is not equivalent to a rude person. I believe all of us have been rude at some point in our lives but it doesn’t automatically mean that we will be rude people forever. It takes continuous practice to be an asshole and one good start is to judge other people even if you do not really know what happened.
None of us has the right to call Meshell names and completely disprove her of her story. In the same line, none of us has the right to bash Sooyoung and proclaim her goddess of rudeness. In fact, none of us has the right to judge anybody in our lives. We only have the right to speak our mind (but even that has its limitations in International Law).
I put my faith that I am interacting with rational and level-headed individuals; individuals who are open-minded but not biased. I hope I will not be disappointed.
Look what I discovered today! I was watching this Japanese girl group, Be-ppin, video & saw someone commented ‘At least they’re better than Super 7’ & I was like what the hell is Super 7 & then I saw a related video that is a Super 7 MV so I checked it out… To say I’m flabbergasted is an understatement.
Usually I just roll my eyes when people accused & bashed every single other girl groups (from South Korea or other countries) as ‘SNSD copycats’ or ‘SNSD wannabes’ just because they have 9 members or wearing almost similar outfits to SNSD. But this. Well this is what I called ‘SNSD copycats’ (& not the Idol Girls/Ai Duo Girls from China, but I digress). In terms of outfits, of course. Though SNSD didn’t actually showed their cleavages.
And then I wasted my time reading all articles about them. Apparently they denied that they’re trying to copy SNSD & even have the cheek to say SNSD ‘aren’t really talented’ & are ‘plastics’, unlike Super 7, who are ‘natural beauties’. I mean, come on, those outfits are a total blatant rip-off of Hoot concept (OK the Hoot outfits are actually inspired by Austin Powers’ Felicity Shagwell costume, so SNSD ‘copied’ Felicity, I guess haha but whatever). But props to them for having their own songs, though whether they can really sing or not is still unquestionable. Their voices are mediocre & undistinguishable from one another. They have great bodies, can’t deny that, but I’ve seen far more beautifuller (no I don’t care if that’s grammatically incorrect) Taiwanese singers/models/actresses than they are. Some of the Super 7 girls are cute, but their looks are just average, IMO.
Anyway, what I’m trying to say is, WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO THE TAIWANESE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRIES??? There’s also another new Taiwanese girlband who’s been accused of plagiarizing Brown Eyed Girl’s Abracadabra. Taiwan used to have great boybands & girlbands (OK they still have, namely Fahrenheit, SHE… there are more but since I left the Taiwanese M-Pop/C-Pop fandom for so long I’ve forgotten most of the names of the bands already) that they don’t need to copy anybody. Well, some bands/singers covered/remake (with or without permissions, not sure) many Korean, English, Japanese, etc. songs, but they still have their own styles/identities, one way or another. Nowadays it seems to me all they produced is shit.
Hmm wondering why in the picture there are 10 of them when they’re called Super 7 & in the videos there are only 7 girls?
